Climate sight understands the level of detail data should be presented, for verification, accuracy and precision. That’s why improvements have been made to show all underlying information for climate market readings. Each data point can be disambiguated in the Recent Observations List.
By clicking a recent observation, you’ll see multiple sources visible. Including typically the fastest, a realtime feed direct from the FAA. Although this is low precision whole digit celsius values it’s updated in just 1-2 minutes. With additional sources coming in a few minutes providing additional verification and data about the value.
By providing multiple sources data is better cross validated, ensuring accuracy and full transparency. All data is delayed a few minutes but by signing up for a free account, currently you can access all data without delay for free.
An early preview banner has been added to the markets data viewer page. It’s important to remember the data viewers are currently in active development, values may be inaccurate. While not perfect, great care has been taken to try to ensure the highest level of accuracy but if any issues are found please reach out!
Nws Text Products
Now a live updating panel shows all recent NWS Text Products relevant to the market. They will soon be processed into Recent Observations, including DSM, as text points and shown on the weather chart.
25°C has a lower range of possible values than 24°C or 26°C, this is reflected in the chart.
Currently ASOS-HFM ranges on the chart have been removed and the chart has been simplified.
Next, five years of TMAX data will be reviewed relative to OMO data, to answer myths about was this data point seen in OMO, and other questions related to the CLI. Including how probably is an OMO to reach the TMAX. Is the ASOS-HFM a five minute sample, or a five minute rolling average.
